The 23rd edition of the Amman International Book Fair, which had the theme "Jerusalem, the Capital of Palestine," has ended after drawing 400 publishing firms and 6 lakh visitors.

This year's event saw vast involvement from Arab ministries and cultural organizations, like the Ministry of Culture in Qatar, the Ministry of Culture in Palestine, and the Egyptian General Book Authority, among others, according to the Ministry of Culture.

For the first time, the event featured a pavilion reserved to national institutions such as the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces, the Arab Army, and the Ministry of Awqaf & Islamic Affairs.

Minister Mustafa Rawashdeh praised the partnership between the Ministry and the Union of Jordanian Publishers, highlighting the fair's role in promoting cultural exchange and helping Jordan's creative and publishing sectors. He also emphasized the ministry's initiatives, such as the Family Library Program and the Reading Festival, to increase public knowledge.

Jaber Abu Fares, President of the Union of Jordanian Publishers, expressed gratitude for the event's success, highlighting the Amman International Book Fair as a vital platform for sharing ideas within the Arab world. Algeria was marked as the special guest this year, with the official representatives led by Algerian Minister of Culture Soraya Mouloudji.

The exhibition also honored analyst and scholar Dr. Youssef Bakkar as the significant cultural figure of the event, acknowledging his intellectual assistance to writing and literary criticism.
